NASA USLI
University Student Launch Initiative sponsored by NASA
DESCRIPTION
OSU USLI is a multidisciplinary rocket team at Oregon State University that launches a rocket with an uniquely designed payload every year for launch at a NASA competition. The team consists of mechanical engineering students that build and design the rocket and recovery systems, electrical engineering students that work on the avionics and electrical requirements of the payload, and then computer science students that work with the electrical subsystems of the payload to design a working solution to the competition of that year.
The spirit of the competition this year was to simulate a Mars mission where the payload would land on Mars and be able to determine its location autonomously using what was available to it.
